2012 Ultrafast Dynamic Imaging of Matter Conference

Banff, Alberta, Canada         1-3 July 2012

2012 Ultrafast Dynamic Imaging of Matter

The conference will take place at the Banff Centre, located near the village of Banff, Alberta, Canada.  It is located in the heart of Banff National Park, in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Banff, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was Canada's first national park and the world's third. It contains 6,641 square kilometres of valleys, mountains, glaciers, forests, meadows and rivers.  Banff has many natural attractions to explore, so extend your stay if possible.  See a video of some of Alberta's outdoors (but no snow in July).

The Banff Centre is primarily a venue for artists and performers looking for a retreat in a mountain environment.  Musical performances will be open to our group.  Conferences are held in modern meeting facilities.  Accommodations are in new rooms on site.

The nearest airport is in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (YYC).  It has direct flights to a number of countries; for example Amsterdam, Chicago, Frankfurt, Glasgow, London, Paris, San Francisco, Tokyo, Toronto.  A shuttle bus runs between Calgary and Banff 12 times per day, or you can rent a car for the 90 minute drive.  If you have the time, take the Rocky Mountaineer train from Vancouver, and see the spectacular mountains and the famous spiral tunnels.
